Plumage / Description
Bronzed Cowbirds have an overall stocky appearance. Males appear black, but in good light the wings appear to be a glossy blue color. Females are browner in color, lighter on the underside, and darker on top. Both males and females have bright red eyes which is diagnostic.

Horse stables, stockyards, pastures, agricultural settings, residential areas in these various habitats.

Bronzed Cowbirds are a parasitic species, laying their eggs in the nest of a host species. Males have an elaborate courtship display to entice females.
