Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival 2026

January 13, 2026

Experience spring migration in the Cottonwood riparian corridor.

Activity: April 23

Held every April at Dead Horse Ranch State Park, this festival celebrates nature in one of Arizona's richest habitats: the Verde River. Unlike more rugged festivals, the Verde Valley event is famous for its accessible "Armchair Birding" (where the birds come to you!) and its focus on the lush riparian canopy. It is the perfect place to spot Vermilion Flycatchers, colorful warblers, and raptors without having to hike difficult terrain.
